What type of scraper is best to clean my grates?

I recommend staying away from any bristle type brush. As they age, they can fall off and find their way into your food. Look for a woven style brush that comes with a flat scraper edge.

*in a pinch, you can ball up tinfoil and scrap the grates clean that way.

How often should i get my grill deep cleaned?

I recommend at least once a year, or if you're experiencing flare-ups, or haven't used it in a while, or even bought a new home and don't want the previous homeowners old charred food.

Why am i getting flare-ups?

Flare-ups are usually due to charred remains or unburned sauces that build up over time. This usually means you're overdue for a deep cleaning.

Is my grill worth having it deep cleaned?

I have a rule of thumb when it comes to this:

If you paid less than $300 for it...i would consider repairing only! I have no problem deep cleaning it, or helping you dispose of it, or even service it, if you just don't want the hassle of buying and assembling a new grill. I can give grill buying advice and even assemble it for you.

Now, if its a built-in. It's usually more cost effective to repair and deep clean. It tends to be difficult to find a replacement grill with the same dimensions as your kitchen (grill) island. REMEMBER...the island is built for your grill. Not the other way around.

Why am I not getting gas to my grill? I just bought propane...

This is more common than you think. It could be a couple of reasons. First being, that you're gas regulator has tripped, second, believe it or not, you have a faulty tank. Tanks are constantly being refilled. The parts inside the stem tend to go bad over time. I've had over a dozen customers with bad tanks. Feel free to reach out no charge for over the phone advice. I will do my best to help!
